About 3DPrinterSpecs

Alex, the creator of 3DPrinterSpecs

Hey, I'm Alex, a software engineer who has been into 3D printing since 2020. I mostly use 3D printers for hobby projects and printing useful parts for DIY around my home. Plus I have been closely following this space for years now - shoutout to CNC Kitchen and Maker's Muse on YouTube for sparking my interest!

Why I built 3DPrinterSpecs

Every year, there are dozens of new 3D printers hitting the market, and all of them have different sets of features and specifications. This is on top of the hundreds of existing 3D printers available for sale.

The other problem is that some models have very minute differences in their technical specs (yes, looking at you Ender 3 series with a million different variants) and it is easy to get lost in them, especially if you are a beginner.

I built 3DPrinterSpecs to better compare 3D printers, based on 10+ different specifications and parameters of each model, and allow you to find the best 3D printer. This way you can select the most important features for you and see the filtered results.

What Makes This Site Different

I appreciate that there are other 3D printer comparison tools out there, however I wanted to build something of my own because:

  • I actually use and buy 3D printers myself, so I know what features are most important when selecting the best model. I also know how frustating it can be when the comparison information is all over the place and not standardised or localised.
  • Some of the existing tools/databases have outdated information and/or only have a limited number of 3D printers listed. My goal is to build the biggest collection of 3D printer specs on the web.
  • As I am one man band, I can move quickly with implementing new features - I am all about building a user-centric product that is actually useful.
